Terms of Service
Last updated June 25, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Aura website (auravoiceapp.com) and the Aura app, provided by Aura (“Aura,” “we,” “us”). By using Aura, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Aura.
Who can use Aura
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use Aura, and able to form a binding agreement. If you use Aura on behalf of an organization, you represent that you’re authorized to accept these Terms for it.
What Aura is
Aura is an AI companion app. Its assistant, Buddy, offers text chat, real-time voice conversations, long-term memory, reminders and proactive check-ins, live web search, and — when you connect them — help with your Google Calendar and Gmail. Features may change, launch, or be removed as the product evolves, especially during beta.
Your account
You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
Connecting Google services
If you connect Google Calendar or Gmail, you authorize Aura to access that data to perform the actions you request. Our handling of Google data is described in our Privacy Policy, and follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can revoke access anytime at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Aura for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with Aura or its security.
- Use Aura to generate or distribute illegal content, or content that harasses, threatens, or harms others.
- Misrepresent your identity or use Aura to violate others’ rights.
AI: important disclaimers
Buddy is an AI and may sometimes be inaccurate or inappropriate. It is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or mental-health advice, and you should not rely on it for decisions that require a qualified professional. When Buddy takes actions on your behalf (such as sending an email or creating an event), you are responsible for reviewing those actions. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line such as 988 (US).
Your content
You keep ownership of the content you provide to Aura. You grant us a limited license to process and store it solely to operate and improve the service and provide it back to you. We don’t use your private conversations or Google data to train AI models.
Subscriptions & payments
Aura is in private beta. Some features may be offered free during beta, and paid plans may be introduced later. If you purchase a paid plan, applicable pricing, billing, renewal, and cancellation terms will be presented to you at the point of purchase.
Intellectual property
Aura, Buddy, our logos, and the software and content we provide are owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. These Terms don’t grant you rights to our trademarks or branding.
Third-party services
Aura relies on third-party services (including Google, AI model providers, and infrastructure partners). We’re not responsible for those services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.
Disclaimers
Aura is provided “as is” and “as available,”without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that Aura will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aura will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Aura. Our total liability for any claim relating to Aura is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $100.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Aura harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of Aura or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Termination
You can stop using Aura at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect Aura and its users. Some provisions (such as disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnification) survive termination.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Aura evolves. We’ll update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide notice. Continuing to use Aura after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located there will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring claims elsewhere.
